Co-ordination Drills

The most important factors in cricket are to react and respond to situation. These are a few exercises which can help you improve. 

Hand-Eye Co-ordination Drills

This exercise is designed to help you improve your reaction time and maintain your balance on the ball. This will allow you to understand and focus on the essential vision.

  • Players are made to stand opposite to each other. Each carries a ball in their right hand and throws it to the other player’s left hand. The players are asked to try keep the momentum and to keep the ball moving as fast as possible
  • Now the players can try the same exercise by throwing the ball criss-cross, from right hand to right hand
  • The next level is to simulate the same exercise using two ball. The players are asked to carry a ball in each hand. They throw both balls simultaneously for his partner to catch. They can also try this exercise individually by throwing two balls simultaneously against a wall and catching them on the rebound to avoid conflict
  • The player can also play the ball against a wall using a cricket stump
  • The player throws the ball against a wall and tries to make as many catches as possible in 60 seconds. This should be done real quick

Foot-Eye Co-ordination Drills 

This exercise will help you improve your feet movement to visual promptness.

  • Two different-colored cones are placed in front of the player. The partner shows a colored ball and the other player must react as quickly as possible and touch the corresponding colored cone with his foot
