Right Age for Cricket Coaching

Right Age for Cricket Coaching

If your kid has talent then there is no limit for age.

The kid needs to understand the game and has to have the ability to intake instructions. Moreover he/she should be able to replicate what the coach had thought them in nets.

I had my son (Vidyuth Krishna) take up his cricket coaching classes from the age of 5. He was able to understand and follow the instruction what his coach told him. Vidyuth Cricket Net Practice Video

Similarly the day when your kid is able to understand and follow the instruction, that is the right age to put him in proper coaching.

This could happen at the age of 5 or even 10, doesn't matter until and unless the kids shows interest towards the game.

Let the kid take his time to know about the game and understand how it is played.
You cannot and should not impose your thoughts on the kid. You have to give them the space and time to learn things.

If you think starting at the early age would help your kid become a good cricketer you might be wrong. Age is not a factor, getting mentally prepared to learn the game is what will make him a better cricketer.

It is the coach and the kid who have to work together to nurture his/her talent and support from parents and dedication from the kid is what will take them to places.

    1. 14 is ok to start, if he has passion and eagerness to learn, you can. Don't think Cricket as future, consider it as passion and if it yields benefit, enjoyyyy.
